IBE Barcode Scanner

The reading half of IBE Barcode Studio: a free, open-source iOS and Android app built with .NET MAUI. Point, press Scan, read. It reads what the Generator prints — including two formats no mobile scanning SDK supports, which the app decodes itself. No database, no account, no telemetry: scans live in memory for the session and nothing leaves the device.

How it scans

  • One Scan button for everything. The preview stays live for aiming; a press takes a single frame and sends it to the platform engine and to the app's own decoders, so you never pick a mode. Scanning from a photo works the same way.
  • Every code in the picture. One press can hold several labels; the first takes the result card and the rest are listed as “Also in the picture”, each with its own links.
  • Results do something. Search Google, copy, share; a link inside a payload gets its own Open link row.
  • Torch, camera switch, portrait lock, session history with copy and share.
  • NFC tags on Android, including tags tapped while the app is closed.

Privacy and languages

  • No ads, no analytics, no network calls
  • No database — history lives only for the session
  • English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語
  • MIT licensed; the native engines (ML Kit, Apple Vision) are used royalty-free

Build it yourself

git clone https://github.com/bobhuang1/IBEBarcodeScanner.git
cd IBEBarcodeScanner
dotnet build # Android + iOS + core tests
dotnet test # core logic tests, no device needed
dotnet build src/IBEBarcode.Scanner -t:Run -f net10.0-android

Building the iOS target needs a Mac with Xcode; the Android target and all core tests build anywhere with the .NET SDK. Full instructions are in the README.
